Eswatini used Africa’s Travel Indaba 2026 to showcase its rich cultural heritage, wildlife attractions and traditional events as part of efforts to position the country as a leading cultural and eco-tourism destination in Southern Africa.
The country’s exhibition stands highlighted major traditional ceremonies including the Umhlanga Reed Dance and the Incwala Ceremony, which attract thousands of local and international visitors every year. These events form an important part of Eswatini identity and tourism offering.
Eswatini also promoted wildlife and nature tourism through attractions such as Hlane Royal National Park and Mlilwane Wildlife Sanctuary, both known for safari experiences, hiking trails and eco-tourism activities.
Minister of Tourism and Environmental Affairs Jan Mkhonta- Simelane during her interview with Inkundla Yezindaba news editor said participation at the Indaba provides an important platform to market Eswatini to international buyers, investors and travel operators while creating opportunities for growth in the tourism sector.
“we are here to sell what we have Eswatini showcased local arts, crafts, music festivals and adventure tourism experiences as part of its broader strategy to grow visitor numbers and strengthen the contribution of tourism to the economy. Some of the events that attract visitors is MTN Bushfire festival is on of Africa biggest music and arts festival, usually held in May house of fire in Mlkerners.” She said.
