eThekwini Residents Invited to Join Beach Clean-Ups on International Coastal Clean-Up Day

Date:

The City of eThekwini is calling on residents to roll up their sleeves and join beach clean-ups this Saturday, 20 September 2025, in honour of International Coastal Clean-Up Day.

In partnership with local stakeholders and environmental organisations, clean-up activities will be held at Dakota Beach, Cuttings Beach, and Reunion Beach. Participants will help remove litter and debris, supporting efforts to protect marine ecosystems and maintain the beauty and safety of the coastline.

International Coastal Clean-Up Day is celebrated globally to raise awareness about the environmental impact of waste and encourage communities to take an active role in preserving natural habitats. By taking part, residents can make a tangible difference in keeping eThekwini’s beaches clean and sustainable for future generations.

The City invites individuals, community groups, and environmental enthusiasts to join this important initiative and contribute to a cleaner, healthier coastline.
